TNDG was tasked with creating an Economic Development Asset Assessment for Larimer County, Colorado in order to provide a comprehensive framework for strengthening the County's long-term competitiveness for economic growth. The assessment included both incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county, with the expectation that the county would be in a better position to pursue various objectives that included:

  • Supporting the retention and growth of existing businesses

  • Fostering innovation and entrepreneurialism

  • Attracting new business investment

  • Creating jobs

  • Ensuring long-term fiscal strength

As part of this comprehensive approach to economic development, the assessment placed considerable emphasis on closely-related “foundational” issues that included:

  • Physical infrastructure

  • Community and visitor-oriented amenities

  • Regulatory/policy environment

  • Education and workforce development
